Program Overview
GYHA Learn 2 Play Program (Sept-Mar) 2009-10
- 8 week sessions, costing $125.
- Learn to Skate is prerequisite unless coach approved.
- Three different courses offered:
Learn 2 Play 10 & under
Learn 2 Play 11 -17
Learn 2 Play Adult
- Weekly practices.
- Each player to receive a hockey jersey to keep at their initial program sign-up.
- All practices at the Greensboro Ice House.
- Participants to be divided into LTP levels 1 – 3 within each age division, based on ability.
- Participants may move up a level at any point that the necessary skills are reached.
- Upon graduation of LTP the player is eligible to participate in Cross Rinks House.
- Full hockey gear is required.
- GYHA to provide equipment rental with $100 refundable deposit. *
- Rental skates shall be provided at no additional cost.
- Ice sessions to consist of fundamental skill instruction, small area games, and fun at all times.
- All players required to register with USA Hockey **
- USA Hockey certified coaches to run practices.
10 & under practices = Fridays @ 5:30-6:20 pm
11-17 practices = Tuesdays @ 7:00-7:55 pm
Adult practices = Tuesdays @ 7:00-7:55 pm (other end of ice)

* = Loaner Equipment consists of helmet, chest protector, elbow pads, shin guards, pants, bag. Parents responsible for stick (~$15), neck guard (~$7) hockey outter socks (~$10) and groin protector/velcro short protector (~$20) - see the Greensboro Pro Shop for your purchasing needs and recieve 10% off by mentioning your registration in the program.
